Newcastle Jets

Mark Birighitti – 6: Could do little about Keogh’s goal, although was perhaps guilty of rushing out too quickly for the second goal.

Jason Hoffman – 6: Struggled with the pace of Risdon and Castro in the first half, and as the Jets went down to ten men, was caught out of position by the latter a few times.

Daniel Mullen – 5: Forgettable game from the defender, first caught ball-watching for the first goal, before being given his marching orders for bringing down Harold in full flight, his second yellow of the game.

Nigel Boogard – 7: Strong at the back and dealt with Keogh’s physical presence well, although he later left him unmarked for the opening goal. Understandably struggled when his defensive partner was given his marching orders.

Nicholas Cowburn – 7: Did well to deal with Harold’s speed throughout the game and kept him well contained. One of the Jet’s better players.

Mateo Poljak – 6: Controlled the ball well and always looked to retain possession, but found himself overwhelmed as the game went on.

Steven Urgarkovic – 5: Quiet game from the youngster, who struggled to exert much influence on proceedings.

Leonardo Santiago – 7: Looked to get forward as much as possible and posed a threat running at the defence. The Jets looked a lot less dangerous when he came off the pitch.

Enver Alivodic – 7: Got into some nice positions on the wing early and his deliveries were dangerous. Found himself shackled by Lowry’s physicality in the second half.

Morten Nordstrand – 6: Slipped a lovely ball through for Trifunovic in the first half, but was quiet apart from that.

Milos Trifunovic – 7: Proved a handful for Lowry and Grant up front, constantly getting into dangerous positions. Worked hard, but alas, with nothing to show for it.

Substitutes

Ben Kantarovski – 7: Came on after Mullen’s dismissal and defended well, including one excellent tackle to deny Keogh a sight on goal.

Ryan Kitto – 6: Offered pace and looked lively on the break, but failed to stamp his mark on the game.
