Sydney FC

Vedran Janjetovic – 6: Endured another resolute performance between the sticks as the gloveman could not do much about either goal.

Rhyan Grant – 5.5: Never went on any marauding runs and let Goodwin at times get the better of him.

Sebastian Ryall – 5.5: Caught out of position on a number of occasions and could have arguably conceded a penalty for an impediment on Sanchez midway through the first-half.

Matthew Jurman – 6: Defended aptly and diverted a plethora of crosses into the box with his head away to safety.

Alex Gersbach – 1: The youngster had a complete brain fade and was correctly given his marching orders following an impetuous studs up challenge on Jeggo after 28 minutes.

Christopher Naumoff – 4.5: The 20-year-old was unfortunately withdrawn at the expense of Faty following the red card incident, but when he was on the field failed to make an impact.

Mickael Tavares – 5.5: Industrious in midfield and worked tirelessly to try and retain possession as well as break up United’s rhythm and tempo.

Milos Ninkovic – 6: One of the Sky Blues’ better midfielders, but could not have a massive input on proceedings as he was chasing shadows for most of the game.

Milos Dimitrijevic – 5.5: A largely subdued game from the Serbian and was substituted for his little influence.

Filip Holosko – 6: Struggled to get involved in the clash, rarely troubling the Reds’ defensive unit. Did make amends by scoring a stunning equaliser.

Shane Smeltz – 5.5: Starved of service for the most part, particularly after Sydney were down a man.

Substitutions

Jacques Faty – 6: Replaced Naumoff on 29 minutes and acquitted himself admirably as he made several interceptions.

Brandon O’Neil – 5: Superseded Dimitrijevic and managed to have an impact in some of Sydney’s attacks and was comfortable in possession.

Matt Simon – N/A: Came on for Smeltz on 81 minutes.
