Tottenham Hotspur have produced a scintillating display to defeat Manchester City 2-0 at White Hart Lane.
City were completely outclassed, dropping their first points of the league campaign and showed defensive frailties which will buoy those competing for the title.
Tottenham took the lead inside 10 minutes when a Danny Rose cross was turned in for an own goal by Aleksander Kolarov.
Spurs’ first half dominance saw them double the lead in the 37th minute after Deli Alli’s one-two with Son Heung-min saw the former finish stroke the ball past a despairing Claudio Bravo from 12 yards.
In the second half City failed to provide much of a response, despite Bravo’s smart save from a poorly taken penalty from Erik Lamela.
After six consecutive wins to begin the season, City showed they are human after all and the supporters, albeit disappointed, were not entirely worried by the result.
Here are some of the best reactions on Twitter from the City fans:
We can stop all this invincible's crap now….

Granted this was the first really good team #MCFC has played all year, but I expected a Spurs win and saw it. No surprise for me. No panic.

So we finally lose a game. 10 days break to recover and go again. Not worried as Pep said we had to lose sometime. Onwards and upwards #MCFC

Playing against the press has always been the problem and it's so evident to see! International break comes at a good time.. #goagain #MCFC

If Pep learns anything from today it's that Kolorov can't play away against the top teams. He was a huge reason we lost today #MCFC

Abysmal game. We lost the game in the 1st half which was really poor. Had a few chances, but the best team won today. On we go.. #MCFC

Sometimes you lose to a better and hungrier team on the day. No complaints. We move on.#MCFC

Poor performance, a little better last 20 but missing too many important players in de bruyne, nolito and gundogan being on the bench #MCFC

Zabaleta and Kolarov definitely needs to go. Silva looks lost without KDB and Aguero disappeared again. #mcfc

So gutted we lost. Fair play to Spurs they fully deserved it. Outplayed us today. We can't always win every game. Onwards and upwards! #Mcfc

No creativity up front with Navas & Sterling,Silva has been a ghost but can't blame him when he's playing with Fernando so far back #MCFC
