Garry Monk’s job is hanging by a thread

The Swans never looked like taking any points from this contest. Only a week earlier, they had to scrap to earn a point from two goals down against new boys Bournemouth.

Considering the signs earlier in the season, with Bafetimbi Gomis, Andre Ayew and Jefferson Montero all causing headaches for their opposition, the Swans have been spiralling rapidy.

Swansea have now only won once in their last 11 games, piling the pressure on Monk. Those who remained to the final whistle at the Liberty booed their players following the final whistle – not for the first time in recent weeks.

Monk, by his own admissions described the performance as “bleak”, which may also be an apt description of his job security, should things fail to improve soon.
