World Champions Germany put in a disjointed display, after being held to a goalless draw by a resolute Poland at the Stade de France.
It was the tournament’s first 0-0 stalemate, though Adam Nawalka’s side would feel they should have secured the three points due to producing more clear-cut openings.
Die Mannschaft insisted on taking the match to Poland, dominating possession but could only muster half-chances.
Star striker Robert Lewandowski was often isolated up front for the White Eagles, unable to impose himself on proceedings.
However, Poland impressed in the second stanza and immediately saw Arkadiusz Milik miss an absolute sitter with his head, after he was left unmarked in the box and failing to make adequate contact.
Milik again fluffed a glorious opportunity to open the scoring. He was nearly left to rue his profligacy as Mesut Ozil fired a venomous shot at gloveman Lukasz Fabianski.
The result means Group C remains evenly poised with Joachim Low’s men and the Poles on four points, while Northern Island are third on three points.

I’ve never grasped why #ger don’t play Muller as the striker and Gotze in midfield? Muller a natural finisher with an eye for goal

Lewandowski has to come to the spots a CDM or winger would fill to get a touch. Completely isolated up top by strong German mids. #GERPOL
