Ter Stegen finally keeps a clean sheet

Marc Andre ter Stegen has been leaking goals for fun this season, but finally he managed to keep a clean sheet in Belarus. Admittedly the German was untested as BATE only mustered one shot on target all match, but no doubt this will give his confidence a small boost.

The return from injury of N0.1 Claudio Bravo will likely mean ter Stegen will be restricted to competing in the cup competitions, but it is good to see his ability not being questioned for once. A string of poor defensive performances from Barca have left the custodian without a hope in many of the games he has played in this season, which has reflected badly on some decent performances from the youngster.

More injury woes

Barcelona have been pretty unfortunate with injuries already this campaign, with Andres Iniesta and Rafinha joining Messi on the sidelines. But last night in Belarus midfielder Sergi Roberto was added to that lengthening list of hurt midfielders. Roberto has begun to shine in his preferred midfield role this season, and Enrique will be hoping the diagnosis is not too serious.
