Wellington Phoenix

Glen Moss – 8: Did what was asked of him, did not have to make as many saves as he probably should have thanks to some poor finishing but deserves plenty of credit for putting himself on the line.

Matthew Ridenton – 6: Brisbane came out and had plenty of success attacking down his wing, creating chances with overlapping runs. He held up under this pressure to break even on the afternoon.

Andrew Durante – 9: Under pressure from a rampant Roar attack for most of the game, he was an assured presence at the back making sure his team were always in with a chance and was his side’s best player on the pitch.

Louis Fenton – 7: A much more successful afternoon for the right back, he helped largely shut down the Roar’s potent left side.

Manny Muscat – 8: There at the right time to rob the Roar of a couple of good chances. He held off some much more athletic attackers and was a big reason the Roar struggled to get a clean shot off for most of the game.

Albert Riera – 7: It was desperate tracking back at times but he helped cut off the Roar when they did get in behind the defensive line.

Alex Rodriguez – 7: Involved as a disruptive presence in the middle, he did his job getting the ball away from the Roar midfielders with his partner Riera.

Michael McGlinchey – 7: He will feel as though he could have contributed more. His missed opportunitiy was turned into the Roar’s counter-attack, goal but it was not a bad performance by any means.

Alex Rufer – 6: The winger took advantage of some aggressive pressing from the Roar fullbacks and got in behind at times but had a minimal impact overall.

Roly Bonevacia – 8: Denied of a one-on-one chance by an impressive Jade North tackle, Bonevacia was really impressive with his limited opportunities, but was stifled at the right time.

Roy Krishna – 9: A brilliant individual goal in first-half stoppage time punctuated another impressive performance.

Substitutes

Jeffery Sarpong [HALFTIME] – 6.5: Got involved with some crunching tackles in the second half and let the attackers do their job effectively.

Blake Powell [78 MINUTES] – 6: Minimal impact aside from committing a couple of fouls in his quarter of an hour on the pitch. Enough to get a neutral rating, not long enough to make an impact.
