Daniel De Silva and Tomi Juric – Roda JC [Debut and Goal]

Just after fellow Australian Tomi Juric made his debut, Daniel De Silva came-off the bench in each of Roda’s last two games and in the midweek cup fixture they were victorious over lower league side De Treffers by a comfortable 3-0 margin. Juric scored the second goal just after halftime and soon after De Silva came on for half-an-hour of action as he adapts to life in the Netherlands. The weekend fixture against Twente was less successful, as the side went down 2-1 despite Juric netting in the 81st minute, but he could have had a double had he not missed a one -on-one chance 10 minutes earlier. De Silva was once again introduced in the latter stage but was not able to make any major impacts. Rostyn Griffiths played in both games as well and appears to be an established fixture in the side already.

Tommy Oar – Ipswich [Debut]

After signing with the club a month ago, Tommy Oar made his debut for Ipswich Town in the Capitol One Cup last weekend. While the result was less than ideal, going down 3-0 to Manchester United, Oar will at least be able to say he has made his debut at Old Trafford. He played the full 90 minutes, but was unable to make any sort of impact on the game which is to be expected for a first timer in such a fixture. He did not play this weekend in Ipswich’s 2-2 home draw with Bristol City, but is in contention to feature in the trip to Lancashire and face Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
