Lukaku can’t stop scoring against the Hammers.

Well, when the name Dixie Dean is mentioned, you know the subject in question is the art of bashing a leather sphere into a netted rectangle. On this, his eighth appearance against West Ham, Romelu Lukaku scored his eighth goal, a remarkable goalscoring run against a single opponent not seen since the days of Dean. Lukaku is one of the league’s predatory strikers, so him scoring in a match is no surprise. But the Belgian’s predilection for netting against the Hammers is well known and, demonstrably, utterly irrepressible.

He might have had a hat trick, had he converted a penalty, which was saved, and another golden chance that came soon after. He couldn’t have known exactly how valuable either of those potential goals would have been, but he realised, and did the vast majority of Goodison Park, once West Ham completed their wondrous comeback.
