Arsenal

Petr Cech – 5: Didn’t have the worst of games but still saw the ball into the back of his net four times.

Hector Bellerin – 5.5: While so pinned back he had little opportunity to show his pace and attacking threat.

Per Mertesacker – 4.5: Torn to shreds, outpaced and uncharacteristically bested in the air on a number of occasions.

Laurent Koscielny – 5: Lacked composure and his normally superbly timed tackles were absent.

Nacho Monreal – 5: Struggled majorly to deal with Long and Mané.

Mathieu Flamini – 5: Managed to get nothing going in midfield and did little to help out his defence.

Aaron Ramsey – 6: Showed flashes early but faded in this match.

Joel Campbell – 4: Did nothing for his side, a passenger.

Mesut Özil – 6.5: Despite being largely stamped out of this game he remained the only one who looked even mildly likely to get something going.

Theo Walcott – 6: Couldn’t manage anything telling against his former club.

Olivier Giroud – 5: Saw very little of the ball in this match and did very little when he had it.

Substitutes

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 5.5: Replaced an anonymous Campbell but was similarly unable to get much going. Substituted on in the 64th minute.

Calum Chambers – 6.0: Didn’t do much wrong coming on against his former side. Substituted on for Flamini in the 73rd minute.

Alex Iwobi – 6.0: Damage was done by the time he entered the game but he looked to go through the motions well. Substituted on for Walcott in the 78th minute.
