Bernd Leno – 4.5: The shot-stopper was very shaky early on, making a meal of a routine catch. Fortunate to avoid embarrassment shortly after conceding the first goal.
Giulio Donati – 5: The Italian was solid in patches of the outing, shunning a couple of Hertha attacks.
Jonathan Tah – 4.5: The youngster was not his usual self, conceding sloppy giveaways early on and was breached too often.
Omer Toprak – 4: Failed to impose himself on proceedings, simply couldn’t shun the opposition at all.
Sebastian Boenisch – 2: A poorly executed challenge resulted in a dismal day for the left-back, seeing red in just the 17 minute, significantly diminishing his team’s chances.
Christoph Kramer – 4.5: Certainly was not at his best, discarding possession more than usual.
Kevin Kampl – 5: Consistent distribution during the 90 minutes, but failed to orchestrate anything major.
Karim Bellarabi – 5.5: Appeared vibrant in some instances, teeing up Hernandez on a few occasions.
Admir Mehmedi – 6: Provided the assist leading to the equaliser. His appearance was cut short when he was withdrawn on the 68th minute.
Julian Brandt – 4: Was the player to be sacrificed following the red card. In his short 20 minute stint he made no impact.
Javier Hernandez – 7: The in-form front-man was involved in great link-up play throughout, he scored the equaliser to get his side back in the contest. Wasted a couple of chances, however.
Substitutes
Wendell – 5: Was keen to push forward when entering the pitch and did well in trying to compensate for his side being a man short.
Roberto Hilbert – 4: Replaced Donati. Was involved in few passages of play but could not help his side claim a point.
Hakan Calhanoglu – 4: Took charge of set piece duties in his 22-minute cameo, but he failed to engineer any real chances.
