Disappointing crowd at Adelaide Oval

A big crowd was expected for tonight’s clash with in excess of 30, 000 spectators tipped to walk through the gates. However, unfortunately that was a far cry from what was predicted as just 19, 079 turned up to watch the ‘Original Derby’. Perhaps the poor crowd was attributed to the fact that the venue is not conducive to hosting A-League matches, given how far the distance from the fans and the action in the middle is. Perhaps this will be the last ever regular season match played at the Oval, as fans also revealed their frustrations by chanting “We should have gone to Hindmarsh”, in reference to United’s usual home stadium – Coopers Stadium.
