Central Coast Mariners

Paul Izzo – 5: Have to put Finkler’s second goal down to poor wall placement. Other than that was able to deal with crosses and high balls into the area quite well.

Josh Rose – 4: Struggled to get forward to help out the attack and was outplayed by Barbarouses.

Nick Montgomery- 6: Started at centre back but looked as though he swapped with Ascroft at half time. He looked a lot more comfortable playing in his regular midfield role and tested Vukovic early on in the second half.

Jacob Poscoliero – 4: After a good performance last week he struggled to find his feet in this match. Gave away some sloppy free kicks in dangerous positions.

Storm Roux – 6.5: He got forward down the right-hand side very well and delivered some dangerous balls into the area. Was also able to keep Khalfallah relatively quiet.

Mitch Austin – 5: Was very kept very quiet in the opening 45 minutes and was replaced subbed and halftime due to an injury.

Harry Ascroft – 5.5: Looked out of place in the first half and wasn’t able to deal with the likes of Finkler and Bozanic. Looked a lot more comfortable after being switched to center back as he was able to read the game a lot better.

Anthony Caceres – 4.5: Failed to get into the game and build the attacks like he usually does for the Mariners. His dead ball delivery was also very poor.

Nick Fitzgerald – 3: Struggled to have any influence on the game. Had to double check on a number of occasions that he hadn’t been subbed off earlier than he was.

Jake Adelson – 5: Showed a lot of energy on his debut but almost looked like he was trying to hard at times. Was still a solid performance from the young man on his A-League debut.

Roy O’Donovan – 5: Very frustrated on the night due to a lack of service. Was lucky to not be sent off in the 43rd minute after a terrible challenge on Broxham.

Substitutions

Josh Bingham – 5: Came on at half time for the injured Austin in a straight swap out wide. Failed to get involved in the game and looked clumsy on the ball.

Matt Sim – 6: Was on for the final 30 minutes, was able to get onto the end of a corner to give the Mariners a lifeline.

Anthony Kalik – 5: Failed to get into the game or have any impact.
