PSG have knocked Chelsea out of the Champions League in the round of 16 for the second successive season, after a 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge.
On 16 minutes Adrien Rabiot tapped in at the back post, following a superb square ball from Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Chelsea found a route back into the tie when intricate play between Willian and Pedro ended with Diego Costa turning Thiago Silva inside out and firing a low drive past a despairing Kevin Trapp.

After the interval the home side tried valiantly to create an avenue to goal, but lacked the cutting edge to engineer clear-cut opportunities.
PSG made their opponents pay for their lack of incisiveness on 66 minutes when Angel Di Maria got in behind his marker and played an inch-perfect ball across the penalty area for Ibrahimovic to stroke home from close range.
That’s how it stayed, as the game petered out to its conclusion, with Chelsea’s miserable season continuing and PSG’s quest for a maiden Champions League crown very much alive.

Let’s be real: We always have hope because we’re #CFC, but as soon as the draw was made, we knew our fate.

Chelsea look dejected. Can see a mass influx of players coming in the summer. #CFC

Result always felt inevitable – was hard to see PSG not scoring. Encouraging from Kenedy but what a miserable season in general for #CFC

We lost momentum as soon as Costa came off the pitch. Gutted isn’t even the word. ? #CFC #CHEPSG

This is us for a few years now….end of an era tonight. Get the young boys involved now. Conte has a job on his hands #CFC #KTBFFH

Shame the spirit, passion, and desire shown tonight was nowhere from the majority of them, for the first twenty games of the season. #CFC

Would take the offer from PSG for Hazard now, the guy isn’t interested in playing for us anymore #CFC

Chelsea logic: sign a player who’s completely unfit on loan, spend 10+ weeks getting him fit and don’t give him a debut. We’re twats. #CFC

This match exemplifies just how low level the Premier League has become. Arsenal humbled by Barca. #CFC being played off the park by #PSG

Obviously UCL run is over for #CFC, and emotions are high, but I’d be totally fine selling Hazard this summer. Not the same player…

If Costa had stayed on, the game would be totally different. We looked more likely to score. But that is how football works, sometimes. #CFC
