Sunderland went into the weekend sitting last with the poorest defensive record in the Premier League, having conceded 16 goals in seven games and 10 in their last four, losing each of those four matches.
Dick Advocaat has some serious issues with his playing group. He has experimented with numerous centreal-defensive partnerships but with no real solution.
The pressure is mounting on his side, and if the results do not change soon and the defence is not sorted, he will struggle to keep his role at the club.
