Martial not just a signing for the future – he is making a difference now
The 19-year-old signed for the Red Devils in what was deemed to be an exaggerated fee of £36 million from Monaco. That fee made him the most expensive teenager in the sport’s history.
His signing was also the club’s third highest transfer fee in its history with the transfer only surpassed by Juan Mata (£37 million) and Angel Di Maria (£59 million).
Martial has performed like anything but an overpriced teenager. The striker has led the line for his side, scoring four goals in five games. His introduction to Premier League football could not have gone any better as it took only 20 minutes for him to find the net against rivals Liverpool, coming on for Mata in the 65th minute.
