The Three Lions will look to put their Euro nightmares in the past as the road to Russia 2018 begins this weekend.
Ahead of England’s match with Slovakia on Sunday, the gang at oulala.com had a look at how attackers Wayne Rooney and Dele Alli have compared, following the 30-year-old’s move into the No.10 role at Manchester United. Although the current campaign is just three weeks old, the Premier League veteran is outshining Alli across seven key categories.
New Red Devils manager Jose Mourinho has seemingly reinvigorated Rooney with the change of positions, already scoring one goal against Bournemouth in the opening round and providing two assists against Southampton and Hull. In contrast, the Tottenham midfielder is yet to get off the mark in either area, so far failing to continue on from his breakout 2015-16 season.
Struggling to make any impact in the final third, Alli is also beaten in terms of created chances and key passes per game, while Rooney also boasts a higher passing and take-on success rate.
