Marco Rojas’ contract with German side VfB Stuttgart has been terminated by mutual agreement overnight, the club’s second string side announced on Twitter.

“The contract with Marco Rojas was terminated by mutual agreement,” the tweet reads.
Twenty-four-year-old Rojas moved to Die Roten in 2013 after a glittering spell with Melbourne Victory, but it never worked out for the Kiwi in Germany.

He made just four appearances for Stuttgart II and none for the first team.
His most successful spell overseas came in his most recent loan spell with Swiss club FC Thun, where he earned 37 appearances and scored four goals.
Rojas is now a free agent and a return to the A-League is a possibility for the 2013 Johnny Warren Medalist.
It was in that award-studded stay in Melbourne when Rojas truly made his name after moving across the Tasman from Wellington Phoenix, netting 15 times in 50 matches.
