Perth Glory has signed A-League veteran goalkeeper Liam Reddy ahead of the 2016/17 A-League season.

The shot-stopper became an integral part of Western Sydney Wanderers’ run to the grand final last season.

Reddy, 34, has over 230 games to his name and kept 62 clean sheets.

The Sydney-born custodian is excited for the challenge ahead and is confident Perth Glory are entering a new era of success.

“The club has assembled a strong squad for the year and I’m really excited to be part of a Perth Glory that is showing it means business on and off the park,” he said.

Coach Kenny Lowe, who put pen-to-paper on a new two-year deal this week, is thrilled with the capture but said Reddy is no guarantee of earning the No. 1 spot.

“Jordan Thurtell and Nick Feely have got great potential and we’ve also got someone like Liam who’s played hundreds of games and comes to us with a wealth of experience,” Lowe said.

“The top spot is open. You have to earn it. Yes, Liam is a veteran when you look at his stats but it’s up to the other lads to push him and keep him honest, so I expect all the guys to fight for their place” Lowe said.

Reddy will begin training with his new club at the start of July.
