Valencia CF have been handed a tough draw at the UEFA Champions’ League group stage draw in Monaco this morning.

Los Che were drawn in Group H alongside Russian champions Zenit St. Petersburg, last year’s French runners-up Olympique Lyonnais and last year’s Belgian runners-up KAA Gent.

Elsewhere in the draw, Spanish and reigning European champions FC Barcelona were given a relatively straight-forward draw alongside BATE Borisov, AS Roma and Bayer Leverkusen.

As well as that, Real Madrid were drawn with PSG, Shaktar Donetsk and Malmo whereas Atletico Madrid were drawn with Benfica, Astana and Galatasaray.

The fifth Spanish team in the draw and last year’s Europa League champions Sevilla were drawn into what many may consider to be the group of death alongside last year’s Champions League finalists Juventus, English giants Manchester City and German club Borussia Moenchengladbach.

The full draw for the Champions League group stage, which will begin in about three weeks, can be seen here.
