The majority of eyes have lied on the Premier League’s offseason transfers, but Serie A too has seen plenty of comings and goings.

We pick out five of the best.

Miralem Pjanic – AS Roma to Juventus

The Bosnian joined Juve from rivals Roma after the Turin club triggered his €32 million buyout clause, and Paul Pogba’s departure means that Pjanic’s creativity will be welcome. It will be interesting to see if Massimiliano Allegri uses him as a Regista, a role Andrea Pirlo played so well, or behind the strikers in a 4-3-1-2. This all depends on who the Bianconeri bring in as Pogba’s replacement.

Gonzalo Higuaín – Napoli to Juventus

Juventus’ bid to weaken rivals did not stop at Pjanic. Higuaín’s arrival sees the possibility of a partnership up front with fellow Argentine Paulo Dybala, which could turn out to be magic. The Argentine’s arrival proves the Old Lady are serious about their Champions League quest. It will be a difficult task, but with a Dybala-Higuaín partnership, they might be able to pull it off.

Antonio Candreva – Lazio to Inter Milan

A summer of change for the Nerazzuri saw them acquire an experienced and talented Italian international. Candreva’s arrival sees the possibility of a front three featuring Ivan Perišić, Mauro Icardi and their latest acquisition. This is a vast improvement in the market compared to last season’s disappointing exploits. Along with the arrival of new coach Frank de Boer, Inter look like they are well equipped to finish in the Champions League places.

Ever Banega – Sevilla to Inter Milan

Another smart piece of business from Inter, capturing the Argentine international on a free transfer from Sevilla. Club board member and legend Javier Zanetti was crucial to this deal as he saw the terrific performances his compatriot provided in Sevilla’s incredible third successive Europa League triumph.

Adem Ljajic – AS Roma to Torino

In something of a shock move, a player who previously played at clubs including Fiorentina, Inter Milan and Roma has moved to Torino. This is terrific business by i Granata as well as the arrival of new coach Siniša Mihajlović, which marks a statement of ambition from the seven-time Scudetto holders.
