Celtic and Socceroos midfielder Tom Rogic says that the Scottish giants are ready to tackle the mammoth task that faces them when they travel to the Camp Nou to take on Barcelona.

The Hoops head into the UEFA Champions League match brimming with confidence having claimed a 5-1 win against rivals Rangers over the weekend, with Rogic once again performing strongly.

Rogic is well aware of the challenge presented by the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez will present for he and his teammates, but is sure they can return home with the right result.

“We performed well at the weekend and we have had momentum building for some time. We are in a good place at the minute and we have quality within the squad,” he said at the official pre-match press conference.

“I feel as though we are ready to come here now and I guess their result at the weekend proves anything can happen.

“It obviously wasn’t ideal for them but they are a top side with quality players and they will be looking to bounce back. We are wary of that and ready for the challenge.

“They are well-known for their style of football and the way they play and that’s obviously associated with the best players in the world that they have.

“We respect them and we know where they are in world football but we are in a good moment and certainly believe in ourselves.”

Celtic are considered huge underdogs in the tie against the Catalan club, but Rogic said the ‘The Bhoys’ were quietly confident of nabbing a surprise result.

“We have reason to believe we have the quality to get a result,” he said.

“That’s why we play football for nights like tomorrow night. These are special occasions and as a team we are looking to enjoy it. It’s just exciting.”

Kick-off is Wednesday morning 4:45am AEST.
