Sydney FC and Puma officially launched their four-year partnership at Circular Quay on Tuesday. As part of the launch, the Sky Blues also presented their new kits for the 2015-16 season.

The event took place at Buckley’s Circular Quay in front of club and Puma officials, media and a select group of fans on what proved to be a fantastic unveiling in front of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

Captain Alex Brosque, Vedran Janjetovic, Seb Ryall, Shane Smeltz and Terry Antonis modelled the new home and away kits for the 2015-16 season.

The new home strip saw a return to a classical, yet simple look. Predominately sky blue, featuring a navy blue V-neck collar and sleeve trim. The Puma logo slots just underneath the V-neck collar, the club crest and A-League logo taking their place in the usual positions.

A new feature is the Opera House and ‘Sydney is Sky Blue’ catch-cry on the nape of the kit. I felt this was a great touch by the club. This is a great addition by the club, furthering the uniqueness of the jersey and it seemed to be an immediate hit with the fans in attendance.

Another new feature this season is the silver star found above the club’s crest, containing the number two inside to commemorate each championship won by the club in 2006 and 2010.

The shorts contrast with the jersey, navy blue with a sky blue stripe on either side. A-League sponsor Foxtel’s logo appears while the club’s new sponsor, ITP, features on the front-right of the shorts.

The away strip sees a welcome return to Sydney’s origins 10 years ago. The jersey is white, with the sleeves being sky blue. The shorts are completely sky blue and both contain the same Puma and sponsorship logos as the home kit.

Socks for the home kit are sky blue and white when on the read, with a navy blue stripe on the side and the SFC text and Puma logo on the front.

Both kits received a tremendous response from the fans in attendance. Seb Ryall, both a fan and player of the club was impressed by the new designs.

“It’s great,” he said.

“A new start to the season, a new sponsor, it’s exciting times at the club and hopefully with this kit we can bring some success to the club this season. All the boys are really happy with how it’s come out. Both the home and away kits, we really like them, and I definitely think the fans will like them as well.”

CEO Tony Pignata commented that the kits will be worn by the NYL and W-League sides, as well as the academy sides when they come in next year.
