Shaun Mooney is the published of well respected tactical analysis website, Leopold Method, and has also contributed to the Guardian Australia.

Along with his co-author John Stensholt, an award-winning journalist who writes about sports business for the AFR, the pair combined skillsets to produce an engaging read about the complications of the A-League’s first decade of existence.

They delve deep into the political and economical battlefield behind the scenes that led to the formation and demise of A-League franchises.

Mooney said the idea to begin writing a book developed from a mere conversation on Twitter with co-author John Stensholt and was pleased at how well it has fared with A-League fans so far.

He also spoke about the early years of the A-League and the race to find people “with deep pockets to fund these clubs,” which was certainly a struggle early on.
