Outside90’s Joshua Scarcella breaks down the biggest talking points to come out of the weekend’s Serie A action.
Bologna humbled in Turin
Despite their recent run of good form, Bologna struggled in their trip to Torino, so much so that they failed to register a shot on target for the match. Numerous chances were squandered by the home side, namely Fabio Quagliarella hitting the crossbar from a fine header.
This all came in a week where young Rossoblu left-back Adam Masina was called up to represent Italy’s under 21s for the first time, a just reward for his performances this season.
Milan rout as Vincenzo Montella struggles again
The Rossoneri put on a dominant display at the San Siro where they took on a Sampdoria side in desperate need of three points. Sinisa Mihajlovic promoted M’Baye Niang to the forward line, leaving Luiz Adriano on the bench for only his third start of the season and the move paid off. Two goals and an assist in 50 minutes of football all but assured the win for Milan and subjected Montella to his second defeat in just his second match in charge.
