Napoli and Gonzalo Higuain continue their winning form with a 2-0 keeping them up in second spot on the Serie A ladder.
Napoli put in an utterly dominant display over Palermo even if the scoreboard didn’t properly reflect that. The home team could have had a much bigger win if the match statistics were anything to go by. Napoli retained the ball exceptionally well, holding 67% possession and having a total of 22 shots on goal to five. Palermo were unable to register a single shot on target.
For Maurizio Sarri’s men, Gonzalo Higuain continued his good run of form, scoring another goal to take his league total to eight in 10 games. After being substituted on, Dries Mertens scored his first goal of the campaign although the celebration left a lot to be desired, the Belgian looking very frustrated with his teammates for some reason.
