FC Schalke have announced the signing of Sevilla and Ukraine winger Yevhen Konoplyanka on a season-long loan.
The German club will have the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.
“FC Schalke have confirmed the signing of Sevilla attacker Yevhen Konoplyanka on a season-long loan. An option to recruit the Ukraine international on a permanent basis upon the completion of the temporary switch has been included in the deal. The 26-year-old will take the number 11 shirt,” a statement on the Schalke website read.
“We’re delighted to have signed a quick winger with an eye for goal. Yevhen Konoplyanka brings a lot of experience with him. He has frequently appeared on the international stage,” said manager Markus Weinzierl.

Sporting director Christian Heidel admitted it was a deal that the club had been hoping to secure throughout the summer.
“We’ve been tracking Yevhen for a while and are pleased that the transfer is now complete,” said Heidel.
Konoplyanka who is coming off a disappointing campaign with Ukraine at the recent European Championships will be hoping to find his best form in the Bundesliga.
The move has reportedly paved the way for Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri to join Sevilla on a season-long loan.
