Saido Berahino looks set to remain a West Brom player with Stoke City unable to finalise a deal for the striker.

Mark Hughes’ side looked to be in the box seat for the Englishman’s signature, however after leaving West Midlands for a holiday on Monday, it looks as though he has opted to stay put.

The Mirror are reporting that West Brom are “officially closed for business”, as the hours run out for clubs to finalise their dealings.

Berahino himself declared his situation, as he welcomed new ‘Baggies’ signing Nacer Chadli.

Other clubs linked this window include London sides West Ham and Crystal Palace, but it now seems clear that they will have to wait until January in their attempt to capture the striker’s signature.

In one of the longest running transfer sagas still active, a barrage of clubs have been linked with the 23 year old since his emergence at the start of the 2014-15 Premier League season.

West Brom sit 10th in the Premier League with four points from three games, and face Bournemouth at Dean court after the international break.
