Ronaldinho re-signs for Barcelona in special role

Former Brazilian international Ronaldinho has reportedly re-signed with the former club Barcelona as they prepare to expand their global market.

Spanish publication Sport is reporting the Spanish giants have signed Ronaldinho in an ambassadorial capacity ahead of the opening of their new office in New York next week.

The two-time FIFA World Player of the Year is set to be joined by a party including the club’s president Josep Maria Bartomeu, vice-president’s Jordi Cardoner, Jordi Mestre, Manel Arroyo and women’s Barcelona star Line Roddik Hansen.

During his five-year spell with the club the Brazilian became one of the most feared footballers on the planet with his tremendous abilities to beat defenders.

He shot to fame immediately during his debut match against Sevilla when he scored his first goal for the Spanish side with a rocket from 25 yards.

Ronaldinho scored 94 times for the club after signing from Paris Saint-Germain in 2003 for a reported fee of £21m .

The gifted playmaker claimed two La Liga titles and tasted Champions League success with the Spanish powerhouse.
