Bayer Leverkusen secured a comfortable 3-0 victory against Werder Bremen at the Weserstadion overnight.

Exceptional goals from Admir Mehmedi, Julian Brandt and Kevin Kampl were enough to give the away side an important three points.

Controlling the majority of the match, come full time Leverkusen had recorded a total of eight shots off-target, eight shots on target and 60% possession.

Werder Bremen

Felix Wiedwald – 4.5: Despite concecding three great goals, Wiedwald did make a few important interceptions.

Theodor Gebre Selassie – 4.5: Started strongly with some great clearances, but Mehmedi eventually got the better of him.

Assani Lukimya Mulongoti – 4: The central-defender produced a vital header to deny a close Leverkusen chance, but little else of note.

Jannik Vestergaard – 4: Did make some clearances in the early stages of the match, but finished poorly.

Santiago Garcia – 4: The left-back did not allow himself to be hammered out wide by Karim Bellarabi, however, he was torn apart on that left-hand-side in the second-half.

Felix Kroos – 3.5: Played just 56 minutes, not enough time for him to make any impact.

Clemens Fritz-3.5: It was an overall poor outing for the central midfielder, created little chances.

Levin Mete Oztunali – 3.5: Wasted a great chance to get a cross in, also lost possession frequently.

Anthony Ujah – 4.5: Hit the post but despite being one of the better players in a dismal performance, he still did not influence the match.

Zlatko Junuzovic – 5: Arguarbly Bremen’s best player, the Swiss striker delivered a couple of nice corners and was the biggest source of creativity for the home side.

Claudio Pizarro – 3.5: Poor performance from the front man, only a part of one attack

Substitutes

Marcel Hilssner – 4: Replaced Oztunali but had little help from his demoralised teammates.

Luca- Milan Zander – 3.5: Failed to influence the match.

Janek Sternberg – N/A: Subbed-on in the 84th minute with the result clearly lost.
