Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho was delighted with the Reds’ performance in their 4-1 demolition job of Leicester City last weekend.

In what is a rarity for the diminutive Brazilian, he was made to watch from the bench for the majority of the game after international duty in midweek meant he was not deemed fit enough to start.

Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane were the standout performers of Liverpool’s attack, while Daniel Sturridge and Adam Lallana were an impressive support cast.

Liverpool’s No. 10 enjoyed the display, as the side look to build confidence heading into the clash away to Chelsea on Friday night.

“It was an excellent game, an excellent performance by the team,” Coutinho told Liverpoolfc.com.

“Everyone played very well, we did what the manager asked us to do. Everyone was very committed from the outset and we got a great result against a great team.

“It was a great game, attacking we were virtually perfect, so it was a great game that gives us confidence.”

Jurgen Klopp brought Coutinho on in place of Sturridge on 76 minutes and will be in strong contention for a starting spot at Stamford Bridge.
