The Roar began a period of dominance over Australian football on the 13th of March 2011 that would last four years.

In an epic Grand Final battle against Central Coast that had to be decided on penalties, Brisbane captured their first of three A-League Championships, emerging from the shootout 4-2 victors.

After the fulltime whistle saw the score still deadlocked at 0-0, the match exploded in extra time as Adam Kwasnik and Oliver Boznic put the Mariners 2-0 ahead by the 103rd minute. This was countered, however, by club stalwart Henrique and a heart-stopping 120th minute goal from Erik Paartalu.

Along with Ivan Franjic and Matt McKay, Henrique and Paartalu would all convert from the spot, while the heroic Michael Theo (then Theoklitos), would deny the attempts of Danny McBreen and Pedj Bojic.

An A-League double was completed by Brisbane in 2010-11 under the coaching of Ange Postecoglou, who had seen the team finish second from bottom the season prior.

It was just the beginning of the Roar-era though, winning the championship again in 2012 and 2014 and the Premiers Plate again in 2013-14.
