Sunderland manager David Moyes is reportedly interested in signing Florentin Pogba, the older brother of Manchester United star Paul.

Unlike his brother who is a midfielder, the 26-year-old is a powerful centre-half who is currently plying his trade for Ligue 1 outfit Saint Etienne where he has made seven appearances already this season, including qualifying for the Europa League.

According to Foot Mercato, the Black Cats are interested in luring Pogba to England, with Hull City also vying for his signature.

Both clubs are desperate for defenders as they bid to stay up in the Premier League this season.

Saint Etienne, however, are reportedly reluctant to sell Pogba given their lack of depth at centre-back.

Standing at 189cm tall, the combative defender plays his international football for Guinea and has a twin brother Mathias, also plying his trade in the UK with Scottish side Partick Thistle.

Sunderland have already made three signings so far this transfer window, with Manchester United trio Donald Love, Paddy McNair and Adnan Januzaj (loan) joining the club.
