Tottenham Hotspur summer signing Moussa Sissoko is not fazed by the pressure associated with his £30m price tag.

The 27-year-old France international made a controversial move to White Hart Lane from Newcastle United on transfer deadline day, despite agreeing a move verbally with Everton before an eleventh hour change of heart.

Sissoko is embracing the added expectation on his shoulders, rather than seeing it as a burden.

“Pochettino wanted me to come here to show what I did at Newcastle, and to try to help the team to its objectives,” he told the Telegraph.

“That’s why I came here. We had a good chat together so I’m happy to work with him.”

“I don’t have pressure. Newcastle asked for £30million, so Tottenham paid it. That is good for me, good for Newcastle and good for Tottenham. Because everyone is happy. That is the most important thing.”

The powerful midfielder has made two appearances for Spurs and will be hopeful of making a big impression for the side when they host Sunderland on Sunday.
