Two 2016-17 title contenders clash in the Manchester derby, yet more focus may be paid to the mangers on the sidelines.
With Man United vs Man City taking second fiddle to Jose Mourinho vs Pep Guardiola this weekend, the gang at oulala.com decided to take a look at how both managers have fared in their opening three games of the season in a total of 16 key areas.
Both sides boast perfect starts to the campaign after three outings, yet the Sky Blues top the table on goal difference while Mourinho’s men sit in third.
City have scored more goals with nine compared to six, although will be missing star striker Sergio Aguero for the derby due to suspension.
Adapting to Guardiola’s style they also have the higher average possession and successful passes, translating into a slightly higher number of chances in the final third.
United have the better defensive record so far though, conceding just once in the opening game against Bournemouth and also recording a total of 45 interceptions. The Citizens have let in three goals, unable to keep a clean sheet in the league yet this season.
