Mino Raiola has revealed how it was his brutal honesty that helped him win over prodigiously talented forward, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

In an interview with talkSPORT, Raiola has revealed how he got the famously egotistical Swede on board.

“Zlatan liked me because I was the first one to tell him he was full of s**t,” said Raiola

“I told him to work harder, other people told him all the nice stuff, I told him the truth to make him better.”

In Ibrahamovic’s book I Am Zlatan, the striker described how Raiola’s confrontational and cocky approach struck a bond with him. He wrote: “From telling Zlatan to ‘go and f**k himself’ in their first contact to his unusual appearance in ‘a Nike T-shirt – and that belly, like one of the guys in ‘The Sopranos‘ in their first meeting.”

The 48-year-old, Italian-born, Dutch national has a host of major clients with his profile ever increasing after securing moves for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba to Manchester United in the recently concluded transfer window.

Raiola also oversaw Mario Balotelli’s recent move from Liverpool to Nice.
