Former Melbourne Victory skipper Mark Milligan has revealed he still harbours hope to play in the A-League again.

Currently in camp with the Socceroos as they prepare to tackle the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday morning AEST,  Milligan told the Daily Football Show that if the opportunity arose, he would entertain a move back home.

“I had a wonderful time, especially at Melbourne Victory those last few years I was there,” he said.

“If the opportunity presented itself and the timing was right, which is obviously very important, then it is definitely something I’d love to do.”

The 31-year-old is an integral part of Ange Postecoglou’s Socceroos squad and if the national team does qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, it will be likely be Milligan’s fourth World Cup.

After leaving the Victory at the end of the 2014/15 season, Milligan joined UAE Arabian Gulf League side Baniyas SC where he still has a year left on his deal.
