Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny says French teammate Nabil Fekir has similar traits to Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi.
Fekir, who enjoyed a breakout season during the 2014/15 season was forced to sit on the sidelines for much of last season with a knee injury and looks to be finding the form of two seasons ago.
And Koscielny believes the 23-year-old has what it takes to become a world class player during his career.
“Nabil has got huge technical skills,” Koscielny told reporters at a press conference.
“He’s a bit like Messi with his small steps when he runs with the ball in one-on-one.
“He was slowed down a bit with his terrible injury, but he’s slowly coming back to his best level. He’s able to make a difference on the pitch, with a good one-on-one or with an assist or a goal.
“He’s a young player who needs to be happy in his club and his national team.
“He’s a very nice guy, so we hope he’ll improve to become a great player.”
Fekir has made a strong start to the season with two goals and two assists from his opening six matches across all competitions.
