Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne says he is enjoying the style of football Pep Guardiola has brought to the club.

In an interview with ESPN, the German admitted the new system put in place by the manager will best suit him as a player.

“I’m really enjoying it, we have almost the same mindset to play with a lot of possession, to play technically and then the other way defensively, to put a lot of pressure forward and not come back that easy,” the 25-year-old said.

“It’s the way that I always wanted to play, but obviously it’s not easy because other managers play a different system, and for me it’s more of an advantage.

“He just changes a few little things and he has his own style of playing, and he’s convincing the players that the way we are doing is the right way.

“If you win games you get attracted really easily [to] these tactics. I think he’s just trying to make the players better and show them the system and the way to play it.

De Bruyne, who has yet to score this season, says he gets the same feeling from finding the net as he does providing for a teammate.

“If you can create a good chance or a great pass for a goal soccer, it’s almost the same feeling as scoring the goal and in the end, everything is about winning.”
