Jackson Irvine played a pivotal role for Burton Albion in the side’s 2-2 draw away to Blackburn Rovers.

The club-record signing scored with a diving header moments before half-time to cancel out Blackburn’s opening goal from Craig Conway.

Burton conceded midway through the second half, only to rally and snatch a point through Tom Naylor on 88 minutes.

Irvine played the full 90 minutes and scored his second goal in two games, after a headed goal against Sheffield Wednesday.

Socceroos teammates Mass Luongo and Bailey Wright clashed at Loftus Road with QPR suffering a 2-0 home defeat against Preston North End.

The visitors took the lead through a Jermain Beckford tap-in on 21 minutes and then doubled their advantaged after Nedum Onuoha put the ball into his own net just seven minutes after the half-time interval.

It was Preston’s first win of the campaign and a crushing blow to the Rs, who could have gone second on the table with a win.
