Socceroo and defensive utility Jackson Irvine has continued his red-hot Championship form, scoring again as Burton Albion downed Cardiff City 2-0 at Pirelli Stadium.
Irvine saw the Brewers get off to an excellent start against the Welsh side, striking from just inside the area with a left-footed effort after 12 minutes.

The goal was Irvine’s fifth of the season and Burton’s 16th.
Lucas Akins doubled their advantage four minutes after half time, a goal that proved to be the sealer.
Burton claimed their third win of the campaign and now sit 15th on the table, while Cardiff remain in the drop zone, second-bottom in 23rd.
Irvine was named in the latest Socceroos’ squad to take on Saudi Arabia and Japan, and will link up with national team mates in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 6 October.
