On-loan Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere says he is keen to make an impact at Bournemouth this season having made his debut for the Cherries in the side’s 1-0 victory against West Brom on the weekend.

Manager Eddie Howe elected to start the midfielder on the bench before Wilshere entered the fray in the No. 10 position, replacing Jordon Ibe in the 63rd minute.

“It was a good win for us today, I thought we did very well and deserved the three points. It was great at the end to be on the pitch celebrating and applauding the fans – that’s what it is all about,” Wilshere told afcb.co.uk.

“Hopefully if we can keep performing like that and getting results then they will keep coming.

“It was also good to come on for my first minutes and get used to the way that the boys play.

“I came on in the No. 10 position today and then moved to the right for the team.

“I can do that role and I can also play deeper. I am comfortable in all of those positions. Different games bring different problems, so we will see.

“The biggest aim for me, and I am sure everyone is aware of it, is to get as many games as possible. That was the idea coming here.

“If there’s any question mark over me I know it’s my fitness. So hopefully I can play as many games as possible, prove everyone wrong and re-kick my career.”
