Juventus came out 2-1 victors over Tottenham in front of over 31,000 people at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Tuesday night.

Goals from Paulo Dybala and Medhi Benatia in the first 15 minutes of the match proved too much for Spurs, who dominated the game throughout periods of the second half.

They found a goal from Argentine superstar Erik Lamela but couldn’t go on to score a second as Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus picked up the win in the second and final leg of their Australian tour.

Mauricio Pochettino: We were better than Juventus

New boy Vincent Janssen settling quickly at Tottenham

Miralem Pjanic: I’m ‘very happy’ and we’ll do ‘great things’ this season

Here’s an overview of how every player rated:

Juventus (4-3-2-1)

Neto 7

Not much he could do with the Lamela finish. Otherwise made several key saves.

Pol Lirola 5

Not as prominent as the previous clash against Melbourne Victory. Struggled to work his way into the match.

Medhi Benatia 7

Scored with a lovely header in the 13th minute from the Pjanic assist. A decent outing in his Juventus debut.

Daniele Rugani 5

Not the best performance from the Juve youngster. Looked at unease when in possession, turning the ball over several times.

Alex Sandro 6

Link up play with Asamoah on the left was good. A constant danger going forward.

Mario Lemina 7

Wowed the crowd on several occasions with his fancy footwork.

Hernanes 5.5

Ok performance from the Brazilian. Just doesn’t seem to ever standout though, could be moved on by Juventus in the coming weeks.

Kwadwo Asamoah 7

Backed up his impressive performance against the Victory with another great showing tonight. Looks to be regaining his touch quiet quickly after missing most of 2015/16.

Miralem Pjanic 6.5

Should’ve gone a lot closer to goal with a chance early in the second half. Set up Benatia with a lovely lofted ball into the 18 yard box to finish with the header.

Roberto Pereyra 6.5

Did well to open up the Tottenham defence on a few occasions. One of Juventus’ livewires.

Paulo Dybala 6.5

Opened the scoring in the 5th minute with a cool finish after a clumsy giveaway by the Tottenham defence allowed him to run into space and collect Pereyra’s pass, leaving him one on one with Vorm.

SUBSTITUTES:

Luca Marrone 5.5

Let Erik Lamela in a little too easily when the Argentina made his way through to score.

Alberto Cerri 5.5

Hasn’t made the best impression during his time in Australia, still a very raw talent.

Giulio Parodi

Mattia Vitale 5.5

On as a late sub, struggles to deal with the physical side of the game at times.

Tottenham Hotspur (4-2-3-1)

Michel Vorm 4.5

Quiet shaky, didn’t look totally convincing in goal.

Kieran Trippier 5

Several overhit crosses. Not a very good outing.

Cameron Carter-Vickers 4.5

Along with Ball, didn’t have a great game. Struggled to deal with the penetration of Juve’s attacks.

Dominic Ball 4.5

Did get better as the game wore on however, crucial errors in the first half from the Tottenham defence lead to both early goals.

Will Miller 5

Didn’t make the best impression going forward for his side.

Ryan Mason 5.5

Got better as the first half wore on, however, failed to take control of the game early which proved vital.

Victor Wanyama 6.5

A good performance on debut from Wanyama. Tottenham’s best player throughout the first half.

Nacer Chadli 5

Not a great deal of service for the Belgian, didn’t see much of the ball.

Tom Carroll 5

Lacked inventiveness, like most of the Tottenham team throughout majority of the match.

Heung Min Son 5

Not enough output from the Korean tonight. Had a decent headed chance sail way wide in the first half.

Vincent Janssen 5.5

Battled hard against a strong Juventus defence but was unable to create many chances for himself.

SUBSTITUTES

Deandre Yedlin 6

Good performance from the American who looked to surge forward at every opportunity.

Erik Lamela 7.5

A real livewire. The games best player in the second half. Several key runs forward, even scoring Tottenham’s only goal after capitalising on a mistake in midfield from Hernanes.

Harry Winks 6.5

A decent upgrade on Mason in midfield, showed why he’s been floating around the first team in recent times.

Josh Onomah 6

Looked to work his way into the game with every opportunity he was afforded.

Marcus Edwards 5.5

Came on late in the second half and had a solid outing.
