Huddersfield Town retained a two-point advantage at the top of the Championship with a 2-1 win against Queens Park Rangers.

The hosts opened the scoring through Kasey Palmer, who headed in Rajiv van La Parra’s cross from close range on 14 minutes.

The Terriers doubled their advantage just after the hour mark when Elias Kachunga nodded in an inch-perfect Tommy Smith cross.

QPR made it a nervy finish for the hosts after a Idrissa Sylla goal, but Huddersfield were strong enough to hold on for their sixth win of the campaign.

Socceroos teammates Aaron Mooy and Massimo Luongo both played the full 90 minutes for their respective sides.

Mooy produced another industrious display, helping control midfield with an 81% passing completion rate, as Town ended with 60% possession for the match.

On the other hand, Luongo could only muster a 65% passing accuracy, although he did have a game-high eight tackles.

Post-match Huddersfield manager, David Wagner singled out Mooy for special praise.

“Aaron Mooy is the heart of our midfield. He nearly 100% makes the right decision; to speed the game up or slow it down.”
