Wales are through to the Euro 2016 round of 16 as Group B winners after a comprehensive 3-0 triumph over Russia.

The result, coupled with England’s 0-0 draw with Slovakia, sees the Welsh top the group with six points.

After a scintillating opening 25 minutes of play, the Welsh went 2-0 ahead through Aaron Ramsey and Neil Taylor.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

Gareth Bale added a third midway through the second half following Ramsey’s clever pass to condemn the 2018 World Cup hosts to a disappointing exit.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to it all.

Joe Allen has been in fine form at Euro 2016, and Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher was quick to heap praise on the midfielder.

It was a case of more of the same in the second period, with Chris Coleman’s side maintaining their brilliant work on and off the pitch.

With 20 minutes remaining, Gareth Bale made it three to propel the Welsh towards the round of 16.

The Real Madrid attacker has been one of the standout performers of Euro 2016 thus far. However, Russia coach Leonid Slutsy was far from impressed.
