How Twitter reacted to Melbourne Victory’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle

Melbourne Victory’s run toward the A-League finals hit another roadblock in a 1-1 draw with a 10-man Newcastle Jets earlier this evening.

The Jets shocked Etihad Stadium just after the half-hour mark when Leonardo set up Ryan Kitto for a tap-in which put the visitors ahead. However, holding onto the advantage was to be a hard task after the sending off of Daniel Mullen for two yellow cards.

After dodging some bullets from the opposition early in the second-half, the Victory found a desperately needed equaliser when Besart Berisha controlled a long pass and slid the ball under Mark Birighitti.

While the likes of Kosta Barbarouses produced some attacking momentum, the hunger to finish was not really there from the Victory, who now hold onto sixth spot by just three points.
