Anfield continues to haunt Manchester City after they were demolished 3-0 against an inspired Liverpool.
Liverpool applied a significant amount of pressure in the earlier stages of the match but it took them 34 minutes to eventually find the breakthrough they desired.
Adam Lallana was given far too much licence to roam forward before he unleashed a low drive that nestled into the far left corner past a helpless Joe Hart.
Seven minutes later and the Reds doubled their advantage after Roberto Firmino’s incisive pass found an onrushing James Milner to control and smash home from 12 yards out.

After the break City continued to play with a sluggish attitude, while the home side kept their opponents under intense pressure.
Liverpool reaped the rewards for their intensity and pressing after lovely intricate play from Lallana saw him play in Firmino who planted a fine curling effort into the far left-hand corner from 15 yards.
The loss could be the final nail in the coffin for the Sky Blues, who have lost three consecutive Premier League games for the first time in seven-and-a-half years.

Fact that we are on our worst run in the league since 2008 says it all about this season. We’ve regressed under Pellegrini #MCFC
