Liverpool have secured qualification through to the knockout stages of the Europa League after they edged Bordeaux 2-1 at Anfield on Thursday night.

The first half was an end-to-end affair, with Liverpool creating the bulk of the chances. However, on 33 minutes Simon Mignolet violated the six-second rule and much to Anfield’s surprise the referee blew for an in-direct free-kick.
From the resulting set-piece Bordeaux’s Henri Saivet curled in a superb curling effort to stun the home side.
Their lead lasted for just four minutes when Liverpool levelled through a penalty from James Milner, following a foul on Christian Benteke.
The Belgian striker then put the Reds in front moments before half-time with a fiercely struck drive.
A controversial disallowed goal from Benteke was the only real highlight of the second half, as the Reds sealed their passage through to the knockout stages.
Here is some of the best reaction from Twitter:
Despite only playing 66 minutes, no player made more tackles for Liverpool than Joe Allen today (5).

This is a shocking statistic. Sturridge played 70 games Missed 68 through injury. We need to plan life without him. #LFC

Our ball retention needs to improve at home against teams who park the bus. Crying out for a quality CM, surely a priority in January. #LFC — Mo (@CoutinOhOhOh) November 26, 2015
Probably unpopular, but I cannot stand James Milner, slow average squad player #lfc

Officials killed that 2nd half for us – mind you we were sloppy too after a bright start. That said. Great win! FT 2-1 to #LFC — Liverpool Australia (@LFC_Australia) November 26, 2015
