Manchester United spoilt Leicester City’s expectant title party at Old Trafford, with a resilient 1-1 draw against the runaway leaders at Old Trafford.

The hosts took the lead in the eighth minute, following a superbly worked play which found Anthony Martial at the back post who finished with aplomb past Kasper Schmeichel.

However, it only took Leicester nine minutes to hit back through skipper Wes Morgan header after a Danny Drinkwater free-kick.

Leicester grew in stature in the second half and came close on a number of occasions, but the home side stood firm and had chances of their own to claim the victory.

Controversially, Drinkwater brought down Memphis Depay in the dying moments of the match on the edge of the box and was given his marching orders, however replays confirmed the player may have been impeded inside the box.

On the balance of play it was a deserved result for both sides, meaning that United’s hopes of a Champions League place are slim-to-none and Leicester now focus their attention on Tottenham’s game away to Chelsea.
