Arsenal took out some built up frustrations on crosstown rivals Chelsea in a convincing 3-0 win at the Emirates last night.
It did not take long for the Gunners to take advantage of an opposition backline that was low on confidence and organisation, with Gary Cahill gifting Alexis Sanchez the opening goal with a terribly attempted back pass.
The Blues defence was sliced apart again moments later, as smooth passing movement led to a picturesque tap-in for Theo Walcott.
Antonio Conte’s side looked helpless to any attacking move Arsenal would create and were largely out of the contest by half-time after Sanchez linked up with Mesut Ozil to add a third for the hosts. There was little else to do for the Gunners but sit back and enjoy the rewards of their early effort, with Chelsea only able to generate two shots on goal that tested Petr Cech.
